1st SEPTEMBER 1939

German expansion had begun in 1938 with the annexation of Austria and then continued with the occupation of the Sudetenland and then all of Czechoslovakia in 1939. Both had been accomplished without igniting hostilities with the major powers, and Hitler hoped that his invasion of Poland would likewise be tolerated.
Adolf Hitler fabricated a grotesque incident to justify a German attack on Poland. He told his generals: ”It does not matter whether it is plausible or not. The victor will not be asked by the vanquished whether he told the truth. In starting or making war, it is not right which matters but victory.” He then launched what he crudely called ”Operation Canned Goods,” which soon exploded into World War II.
On Aug. 31, 1939, Maj. Alfred Naujocks of the SS hauled 13 Germans out of the concentration camp at Oranienburg. They were drugged, dressed in Polish uniforms and massacred in a feigned attack on the border town of Gleiwitz – the pretext for Hitler to unleash his tanks the next day. Thus began a conflict that took 70 million lives and spread its devastation across the globe to desert sands, Arctic tundras and Asian jungles.
For some years, many Americans considered the “War in Europe” to be a “phony war,” because there were few significant military engagements reported in the news media, in light of the Nazi tactics of quietly arresting or killing Polish citizens. Similarly, it wasn’t until after World War II that the details of the Gleiwitz episode came to light.
Journalists covering some conflicts frequently publish inaccurate or even wholly fabricated articles caused in part by pressure to sell newspapers.
Napoleon Bonaparte once said: “What then is, generally speaking, the truth of history? A fable agreed upon.”
To these days, still not much is being published about the Polish suffering during the war, as much as it is exaggerated about the jewish and recently even about the German suffering. German concentration camps are suddenly being called the Polish concentration camps by certain groups determined to twist and falsify the history.

Reasons Hitler Invaded Poland

To overturn the Treaty of Versailles

This was a second CENTRAL AIM of Hitler’s foreign policy.
The Polish Corridor and Posen had been given to or rather returned to Poland in 1919, and Danzig had been declared a Free City administered by the League of Nations.
Hitler first asked Poland to consider the position of Danzig in October 1938, immediately after Munich, and in March 1939, Hitler demanded that he be given Danzig (this was the pattern he had followed with Austria and the Sudetenland).

Did you know that in March 1939 Germany also seized the Lithuanian port of Memel, at the northern end of East Prussia?

When Hitler demanded Danzig in March 1939, Brauchitsch, the Commander in Chief of the German Army noted that he intended ultimately to ‘knock Poland down completely’ and that eventually Hitler wanted Germany’s pre-WWI boundary restored.

Anyone still in doubt that Hitler didn’t want war?

The Treaty of Versailles was fair, for it restored freedom to many nations as Poland, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Lithuania… etc.
Those countries recovered lands that ALWAYS belonged to them, but have been repeatedly invaded over the centuries and occupied by aggressive, imperial states of Germany, Russia and Austria; with hundreds of German settlers seeking farming opportunities in the east. The main reason to invade Poland was to enlarge a space for living to German race of lords, called Lebensraum.
Hitler intended to change Poles into slavery workforce and exploit polish natural resources. Hitler decided to invade Poland because Stalin supported him in the endeavour. He did it because he could, since the rest of the world was too spineless to stop him. In essence, Poland was sacrificed with the hope that Hitler would be satisfied, but then he invaded the rest of Europe as well, because one cannot satisfy a tyrant.

To defend the Germans in Poland

Another phony reason Hitler gave was that the Poles were persecuting ethnic Germans (settlers) living in Poland.
Hitler turned to propaganda and misinformation, alleging these persecutions, of which some were obvious false flags operation to justify the invasion.

Because he thought, Chamberlain would not dare to stop him

Chamberlain had stood up to Hitler, at Bad Godesberg during the Sudeten crisis, but had then backed down at Munich. Hitler despised Chamberlain, and did not believe that he would dare to go to war. So he felt able to pursue his aims in Poland despite Chamberlain’s promise in March 1939 to support Poland.

To teach Chamberlain a lesson

Chamberlain’s guarantee of Poland on 31 March 1939 infuriated Hitler ;
– ‘I’ll cook them a stew they’ll choke on’ – was his reaction.
From there on, he was determined to destroy Poland and therefore show off to Chamberlain his independent decision and power.

To prevent an anti-German alliance

Hitler eventually realised, that the world was beginning to gang up on him, so his CONSIDERED reaction was this: ‘If they expect Germany to sit patiently by while they create satellite States and set them against Germany, then they are mistaken’.
Poland was preparing to resist Hitler, and had started mobilising its army – Hitler stated that this broke Poland’s non-aggression pact with Germany, but this was an unofficial, partial and unpublished mobilization, involving 4 infantry divisions and 1 cavalry brigade. This partial mobilisation had been conducted in response to massive troop movements from within Germany to the Polish borders, and to the arrival of German troops into Slovakia, on Poland’s southern flank, following the dismemberment of Czechoslovakia.

If one considers this mobilisation an infringement on the non-aggression pact, would you not consider the German troop movements such as well?

The Nazi-Soviet Pact

After April 1939, both Roosevelt and Stalin began to express concerns about Hitler’s aims on Poland. Hitler merely mocked Roosevelt, but he was worried about Stalin. Only Stalin – and the Russian army – could have stopped Hitler taking over Poland at this point. But the failure of the Anglo-Soviet negotiations and the Nazi-Soviet Pact of 23 August 1939 not only freed up Hitler to attack Poland, it included a secret agreement to divide Poland up between them. In the end, Hitler invaded Poland because he had agreed to do so with Stalin.

To oppose Communism/conquer Russia (?) So some say…First an alliance and then an enemy? Doesn’t make sense.

Poland was not a communist country, but the Soviet Union was, where Hitler discreet intentions eventually headed (Mein Kampf, 1924) and Poland was just another step to the East. When he demanded Danzig in 1939, Hitler’s proposal included a joint anti-Soviet alliance against Communist Russia. This was the third CENTRAL AIM of Hitler foreign policy.
And most of all.

To give Germans lebensraum in Eastern Europe

He had promised this in Mein Kampf (1924) and it was one of the three CENTRAL AIMS of Hitler foreign policy. To Hitler, the conquest of Poland would bring Lebensraum, or “living space,” for the German people. According to his plan, the “racially superior” Germans would colonize the territory and the native Slavs would be enslaved.
As a result of all the above the most evil state was also created; the state of Israel and perhaps this was the main reason; a forceful resettlement of jews into Palestine and never ending wars ever since with the assistance of United States of America.

REGARDING POLAND: “I attempted to find a tolerable solution. I submitted this attempt to the Polish rulers. You know these’ proposals’ ( ??…Demands rather..Admin). They were more than moderate. I do not know what mental condition the Polish Government was in when it refused these proposals. As an answer, Poland gave the order for the first mobilization, and my request to the Polish Foreign Minister to visit me to discuss these questions was refused. Instead of going to Berlin, he went to London.”

How hypocritical and mentally unstable in his mind Hitler must have been!

When he demanded Danzig in 1939, Hitler’s proposal included a joint anti-Soviet alliance against Russia with Poland, which the Polish government refused trying to avoid war. He then delegated his diplomat Ribbentrop to sign a secret pact with Molotov, the Soviet communist diplomat thus sealing the IV Partitioning of Poland!

By breaking his non-aggression pact with the Soviet Union Hitler seized all of Poland!

Anyone still in doubt that Hitler didn’t want war?

Then one must wonder also about their OWN state of mind to believe Hitler’s hypocritical statement!
