Vienna – Victory September, 12th 1683, King Sobieski began marches to Vienna from the Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa.
The Polish army hit the numerically superior Turkish force with their surprise attack so hard, the Turks panicked.
They did not simply withdraw from the walls, they fled.
100 years later Austria thanked the Polish who saved Vienna, Christendom, and Western Civilization by partitioning them with Russia and Prussia.
This betrayal of Poland would continue up until today.

Not even the Turks seemed so offended by this defeat in 1683 at the hands of the Polish King Jan III Sobieski in the following years because Turkey was the only country in the world which condemned the Partitions of Poland in 1795. The Turks usually called the Polish king Sobieski “the Lion of Lechistan” and still call Poland these days Lechistan (like some other Middle East countries do). They even have the old tradition in their Parliament to leave one seat available for “the Lion of Lechistan” to arrive and sit for negotiations.
