The LA Times spreads more misinformation and Holocaust manipulation. It’s ironic to see Tracy Wilkinson committing holocaust revisionism while writing about “fighting Holocaust denial/manipulation”. Pairing Austria and Poland for their roles in the Holocaust is despicable pure revisionism and they clearly have no shame.
Political blackmailing for bogus heirless “Holocaust Reparations”. This is how we change history, while after 70+ years Polish national treasures remains in hands of German private citizens and Germany refuses to pay up for destroying 30-40% of Poland’s national assets and 90% of Warsaw.

Poland, as an Allied country, put a huge effort in defeating the German Reich, led by Adolf Hitler. It was the first country in the world to mount armed resistance against Germany’s aggression. For this, it paid a huge price during the occupation of all its territory by Germany. Not for a single second of WWII did Poland participate in any acts of German genocide. In fact, the Polish State, after transferring its authorities to the territory of the Western Allies, continued the fight against the German Reich, forming an underground Polish army and fighting on the side of the Allies for the freedom not only of Poland but also of Norway, France, the Netherlands, Belgium and Italy.
Polish society (including millions of Jews and millions of Poles) was subjected to German genocide. Poles constituted the second largest group (after Jews) murdered by the Germans in the Auschwitz-Birkenau camps. Assigning Poland any complicity in this genocide is falsifying history, covering up the crimes of the Hitler regime, and brutal abuse of the memory of the victims.

No wonder Germany is accepting responsibility for the Holocaust as it was a German-organized mass crime. Stating otherwise is a disgrace to 6 million Polish citizens who perished as a result of WW2. This number includes 3 million Polish Jews. Poland as a state did not collaborate with the Third Reich for a single moment of WW2 as opposed to some other European countries. Many Poles helped their Jewish neighbours although any form of aid was punishable with death by German authorities.
Poles are the nation which has the biggest number of trees in and around Yad Vashem, And yet, each single act of help meant putting at risk not only one’s life but also the life of the relatives and neighbours.
At the IPN, we regard it as our duty to spread reliable information about WW2, the Holocaust and German Nazi camps. We want the knowledge about the atrocities and perpetrators of WW2 to reach as many recipients as possible, so that history never repeats itself.

I still don’t understand the concept that group x is guilty of huge distortions of history aimed at Poland, and at the same time, atrocity history through the lens of group x aimed at Germany is history we can trust. Please enlighten me.
