Edward Reid – Polish Truth
On the 19th of September 1940, during a mass roundup in Occupied Warsaw, the Germans arrested over 2,000 men.
Among them was Polish hero Witold Pilecki who volunteered to be captured and then imprisoned in KL Auschwitz.
His plan was to gather intelligence on the camp and organize inmate resistance.
He later escaped and documented what was happening in regards to the Holocaust and wrote a report warning the West.
In post-war Poland he was tortured, tried, and executed by the same people he tried to save.
Little is known about this one of kind hero in the west due to Soviet repression and his death, but little by little more people are learning about this remarkable individual.
You can only hide the truth for so long.
