Only Poland ….
We are experiencing a period of increased interest in the matter of Jewish extermination during World War II and an increased accusation of Poles for participating in this extermination. The foundation for these slanders is to remain silent about how the German occupation in Poland differed from the German occupation in other countries:
POLISH STATE
1. Only Poland has never capitulated, did not surrender to the invaders and fought from the first to the last day of the war.
2. Only in Poland no collaborative government has ever been established as in other German-occupied countries.
3. Only in Poland have never been armed troops cooperating with Germany as in all other European countries – also in those not occupied by Germany, but rather fighting alongside.
4. Only in Poland an underground state was created – unique on a global and historical scale.
5. Only Poles, despite the occupation of their territory issued voluntarily 650,000 strong army men, which included; 400 thousand Home Army (AK) soldiers and another 250,000 Polish soldiers fought alongside with the Allies in the West; armies in other countries were recruited mainly from compulsory recruitment.
GERMAN POLICY AGAINST POLES
6. Only in Poland Germany had implement the plan to completely exterminate the Polish intelligentsia.
7. Only in Poland there were street round-ups – and the captives were sent to slave labor or extermination camps (or killed in mass executions).
8. Only in Poland street executions were carried out to terrorize the population.
9. Only in Poland Germans murdered more Poles (3 million) and Jews living in Poland (2.7 million).
10. Only in Poland as a result of German occupation 22.2% of Poles lost their lives and thus Poland suffered the largest population losses from all countries of the world; for comparison – 0.8% Belgians, 1.5% French, 0.8% English.
11. Only in Poland Germany has planned and largely implemented the plan to erase the capital of the country from the face of the earth.
THE RELATIONSHIP OF THE UNDERGROUND STATE TO THE JEWS
12. Only in Poland there was no institution that participated in the extermination of Jews.
13. Only in Poland an institution of the underground state was created to provide assistance to Jews – Żegota.
14. Only in Poland the underground state has prepared a report documenting the German persecution of Jews.
15. Only the government of the Republic of Poland appealed to the Allies for an assistance to help save Jews from extermination.
16. Only in occupied Poland the death penalty applied to anyone for providing shelter or any form of help to a Jewish person and their family.
17. Only in Poland the underground state punished collaborators with death for blackmail and denunciation of Jews in hiding.
