ŻOŁNIERZE WYKLECI ( Doomed Soldiers) vs. Soviet Puppet State Over Poland (Communism)
The list author says: “The ZOLNIERZE WYKLECI” (CURSED SOLDIERS) were Polish anti-Communist guerrillas who fought for Poland’s freedom for an astonishingly long period of time (1944 to 1963). The ZOLNIERZE WYKLECI fought for nearly twenty years after the Red Army had “liberated” Poland from Nazi German rule!
The remaining entries in this listmania deal with the political issues surrounding the Soviet imposition of Communism upon Poland.
What had led to the heroic efforts of the ZOLNIERZE WYKLECI?
The disgraceful sellout of faithful-ally Poland, by Churchill and Roosevelt, led to Nazi-German tyranny being replaced by Soviet Communist tyranny. Poland, denied her rightful freedom and liberty, was reduced to a satellite of the USSR, and ruled by Reds such as Bierut, Gomulka, etc.–all stooges of the Kremlin.
The first 7 entries of this listmania deal with the ZOLNIERZE WYKLECI. All the Polish-language works have detailed English-language reviews by me (Mr. Jan Peczkis).
This list includes a number of books written by Americans who visited Poland immediately after WWII, that is, before the Soviet-imposed Communists had fully consolidated their power grab. In the interest of completeness and objectivity, I also include a couple of pro-Communist accounts by visiting Americans. One lauded Communism while the other could only bad-mouth and demonize pre-WWII Poland.
Communism in Poland finally ended in 1989. Or did it? The post-Communists and their allies remain a major force in Polish politics, and continue their relentless war against Polish religious and patriotic traditions. See my Listmania: CULTURE WARS AGAINST POLAND…”
