Poles honour victims of WWII killings in Ukraine
Thousands of Poles prayed on Sunday, 11th July for victims of World War II-era massacres by Ukrainian Nazi bandits, an anniversary that remains a sore point between the neighbouring nations.
Tens of thousands of ethnic Poles, including men, women and children, were killed or hacked to death and their villages burned down during 1943 and 1944 in what was then Nazi-occupied eastern Poland and is now western Ukraine.
In fact, smaller brutal persecutions started already in 1938.
Poles are marking the July 11, 1943 anniversary, the day of the worst bloodshed, in which Ukrainian nationalists attacked 100 villages. Their plan was to have a sovereign and nationally homogeneous Ukraine after the war.
After much debate, Poland’s Senate, under former President Komorowski toned down the use of the word “genocide,” to describe the killing, a term used in Poland, but rejected by Ukraine, which in fact, wasn’t only a genocide but a true holocaust as many Poles were burned alive in their homes.

The organized and massive nature of these crimes and the accompanying cruelty mark them as ethnic cleansing that bears signs of genocide, the most horrific ever recorded!

Former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych denied it and so did the current ukrainian politicians.
Under communism, talk about the killings was taboo and historians are only now revealing the details.
With evidence basing chiefly on survivor accounts and documented photographs historians estimate Polish victims up to 130 000 and the good Ukrainians, who helped Poles at up to 20,000.
The outspoken Rev. Tadeusz Isakowicz Zaleski insists on the genocide term.

“Euphemisms are used: ‘the Wolyn tragedy, ethnic cleansing.’ You can clean your clothes, when they are dirty, but to kill women, children and old people does not amount to cleansing, it amounts to genocide.”
Documents recently uncovered by The Associated Press show that Michael Karkoc, who was a commander of a Nazi SS-led Ukrainian unit, that is accused of taking part in at least one massacre of a Polish village in 1944, is living in the United States, after he allegedly lied about his wartime past to the authorities to be let into the country.
Today Poroshenko scandalously stands up for perpetrators of Volyn Massacre.
On June 27th 2013, the Patriarch of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church asked forgiveness from every Polish family who lost relatives at the hands of his compatriots.
The famous Polish Roman Catholic priest and social activist Tadeusz Isakovicz-Zaleski accuses Peter Poroshenko of unwillingness to atone Bandera, who organized the genocide of Poles in Volyn. In his opinion, Poroshenko during a visit to Poland could take a step on the path of reconciliation, but instead hid behind half-truths and euphemisms.
Unfortunately, Petro Poroshenko, speaking at Polish Sejm, did not have the courage to call a terrible crime by its name.
He only used a term “Volyn tragedy”.
The main problem in the Polish-Ukrainian relations is the genocide of Poles, perpetrated by the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists, the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA), troops of SS “Galicia” and other Ukrainian groups in the service of Hitler.
The priest added that the President did not dare to say who was guilty of this crime. The priest believes that Poroshenko’s appeal for a search for historical truth was a sign of hypocrisy.
It is profoundly frustrating that 72 years after those events, the accounts in Ukrainian and Polish textbooks are so different, and most Ukrainian history textbooks make it next to impossible to understand what happened.
Poroshenko’s message at the Polish Sejm contained words about some historical truth, but what historical truth can we talk about, if the bones of the martyred haven’t even been decently buried, and Ukrainian nationalists from UPA are now revered and honoured in Ukraine”.

And as if this wasn’t enough he now demands in threatening tones the return of the Polish city Przemysl and its region!!
Since when did it belong to Ukraine while Wolyn, Lwow, Wilno, Grodno and many other cities were always Polish?! They were given in a present to Ukraine by the Soviet government.

Ukraine NEVER was!
Stalin created Ukraine as one of the Soviet’s State and gave it territories that were taken from Romania, Moldova, Hungary, Poland, Belarus and Russia.
There have been very few times in history that Ukraine actually has been a country.
Ukraine until 1991 never was a country and still has no officially approved borders!
Russians have inhabited the Motherland for a thousand years and Poland inhabited parts of today Western Ukraine for hundreds of years!
Most Ukrainians have no sense of history or culture. What some of them know is violence and brutality.
Ukraine’s name comes from the Slavic word for borderland and has always been part of other countries. As there has never been Kosovo before , which has always been part of Serbia.
In 2011, the most recent mass-grave containing the remains of at least several hundred (and possibly thousands) of people has been uncovered in the small Western Ukrainian town of Volodymyr-Volynskyi, near the border with Poland.
This discovery is hardly surprising since the lands of Ukraine, dubbed by Yale history professor Timothy Snyder as ‘Bloodlands’, are full of mass graves dating back to World War II. The evidence indicates that it was committed by the Nazis and the local Ukrainian police, since many Ukrainians served the Nazis during that time.
The remains of women, small children, and elderly uncovered in the summer and the fall of 2011 indicate that most victims were Polish and Jewish civilians.
How many more mass graves are there that we don’t yet know of ? !!
